Our Studio
When creating our new studio we wanted to incorporate our material into the space, specifically areas that we would be interacting with the most, the counter, wall, floor and bathroom. We did this so that we could better understand the material and give more accurate feedback and suggestions to our clients about what it is like to live with this material.
We used our grey unburnt tiles for the one section of the wall and floor so when coming in the first thing you see and experience is our tiles.The counter where the adjoining flower shop Plant House completes their orders is made from blue unburnt tiles. They were placed on top of two upcycled tables from a previous shop and transformed into one long counter for the shop. Burnt tiles were used to tile our bathroom, providing the room with a nice cooling effect as the cold air bounces off the walls.
